Salvatore's second recording revisits the solo piano form with 9 unique originals.
Solo piano records come and go, almost every jazz pianist gets around to recording a collection of solo pieces, sometimes standards, sometimes originals. But this collection by Luciano Salvatore is really different from what you usually come across. The pieces, all originals by Salvatore, are sort of half way between classical and jazz, some pieces feel more jazzy, others seem mostly classically inspired. It doesn't matter where the dividing line falls, what really works is that these pieces are beautifully composed and performed. I sat down to listen and lost myself in the music. It felt like the music hardly lasted a few minutes, it is so captivating. Sit back and take a listen. You'll love it.
